How to use 1. Prepare amplified .ogg files for the sounds you want louder. - Place them under: `assets/minecraft/sounds/loud_pack/...` Example: `assets/minecraft/sounds/loud_pack/entity/zombie/hurt.ogg` 2. The included `assets/minecraft/sounds.json` maps several built-in sound events to files inside `loud_pack/` and sets a higher "volume" value. 3. Package the resource pack folder (the folder that contains `pack.mcmeta` and `assets/`) as a ZIP. 4. Put the ZIP into Minecraft's `resourcepacks` folder and enable it in-game. Notes and recommendations - Minecraft uses OGG Vorbis for sound; convert your amplified WAVs to `.ogg`. Example (with ffmpeg): `ffmpeg -i loud.wav -acodec libvorbis -aq 5 loud.ogg` - Tools you can use to amplify and export to OGG: - Audacity (GUI) — amplify + export as OGG - ffmpeg (CLI) — amplify using `-af "volume=2.0"` or export after editing - If you want to bulk-create louder files from original Minecraft sounds, extract the game's `.ogg` files, amplify them in your tool of choice, then place them in the pack path above. Using the browser amplifier - Open `tools/amplify.html` in a modern browser. - Upload WAV or audio files, set a gain (e.g., 2.0 for +6dB approx twice amplitude). - Click "Process files" to generate downloadable amplified WAVs. - Convert the resulting WAVs to OGG (using Audacity or ffmpeg), then place them in the pack.
